Examples
[edit]The section "Examples" is rather useless. The texts are very long, without any annotation, explanation or translation. The spelling used has never been used in Xinjiang or the countries of the former Soviet Union and some characters are missing. Babelfisch June 14th, 2004
- Agreed. Some anon added them. It's pointless. --Menchi 13:03, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
--- The text sample of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 1) in Uyghur Kona Yeziq has been corrected. - a concerned Uyghur 12:56, 13 Oct 2005.d
It's not translated with proper Uyghur, it should be something like this:
Hemme kishi tughulushidinla erkin shundaqla ghorur we hoquqta barawer. Ular chushenchige we anggha ige bolup, bir-birige qerindashlarche muamilide bolushi kérek.
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.
Missing Unicode Points
[edit]Testing: “k̡” and “h̡”, compare with apparance of precomposed character “ȥ” or “z̡” for uniformity. Unicode doesn’t have anything called combining hook below but it has U+0321 COMBINING PALATALIZED HOOK BELOW. I’m thinking those might be the correct characters for the ones the article says are not in Unicode. —DÅ‚ugosz
Once again, Uighur, not Uyghur, is most common spelling in English. It may not be correct from Uighur phonetic point of view but it is used as a main spelling in every English dictionary I could find. -The correct spelling in Arabic Uyghur Alphabet isئۇيغۇر , not ئۇغۇر

Vowels section is contradictory
[edit]Reading the section of vowels it's hard to understand what phonemes the language does and doesn't have. No distinction between [i] and [e] but why does the text refer to both in slashes //? And the information about the back unrounded vowels is even more confusing. Does the language have /ɯ/, /ɤ/, both or neither? Stockhausenfan (talk) 09:09, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
