The article first indicates Stephanus remained Catholic, then seems to indicate he became Protestant. Can someone clarify? Thanks. Birdchest.
It says that the Robert Estienne who remained a Catholic was the son of the subject of this page.
We are told that "the text of the Vulgate was in a wretched condition". The seems to be a quote from the 1911 effort or Schaff-Herzog.
No proof is produced that the Vulgate was in a worse condition than the Greek or Armenian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.151.88.26 (talk) 13:42, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
