Nationality question
[edit]According to the infobox for this article, Cassini's nationality changed in 1673. Can someone add a reference for the change? The change is mentioned in the article in a brief sentence. - Astrochemist (talk) 15:06, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Telescope(s) he used?
[edit]Anyone know the size and type of scope he used to discover the Cassini division? Was hoping for a clue with the History section of the Paris Observatory, but didn't come up with anything. Web searches didn't seem to help either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.97.110.61 (talk) 19:56, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
Class Project
[edit]Will be working to fill out some information and add citations for what is already here. Doing this for a class project so will be listing most of my working changes on my user page before I make it live. Dradoowdrad (talk) 04:59, 30 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, Kyle! Looks awesome, you did a great job! I really like how you've expanded the Astronomer section; it now covers a much larger surface of his interests and accomplishments. I particularly enjoyed the addition of his biography. It's important to know what and where Cassini came from in order to understand his views and contributions to the scientific world. Excellent section!
- Just a couple things: it seems odd that you mention that he became a French citizen in the first paragraph of Moving to France, simply because you state it again in the third paragraph. Also, in the fourth paragraph of the Astronomer section, the second sentence is a run-on sentence with two semi-colons -- you could probably split them up! One last suggestion would be to perhaps expand that opening paragraph a bit, just to give more of an introduction to Cassini, for those who aren't particularly aware of his work and contributions. But overall, you've done a fantastic job of improving the article!
Substantial Edits/Additions
[edit]Following up with the previous talk subject I have added my completed changes to the article on Cassini. These changes consisted of and are not limited to:
- Expanding the intro paragraph
- Adding a new "Life" section and moving a section into it
- Inserting citations to support information already mentioned
- Adding information that was not already mentioned in the article
This was all done as a project through my university and all changes have been made with the best intentions of improving the article.
