[edit]Close Up Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization in the United States. Founded in 1970, Close Up offers high school students a in-dept view of the democratic process, by interactive participation. [2]
Participation
[edit]More than 20,000 students from over 2,000 schools participate yearly in Close Ups six day Washington, D.C. program. Students are provided meals, lodging, transportation and supervision. A typical day for students starts about 6:00am (EST) and end as late as 9:00pm (EST). While in Washington, D.C., students have the chance to interact with government figures like Senators and Congressmen, visit historic sites and monuments, and discuss daily activities. !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!
