Why do we have Mine detector redirect here. There are many different types of mine detector, some of them metal detectors, but not all Polish! Billlion 15:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
(In reference to [1]) Why am I being accused of racism? I added a section on the use of PMD that I've heard used much more. For examples: [2] (#536) [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] I'm not making this up. As for should if it be here, I'd recommend looking at WP:NOT#CENSOR and Wikipedia:Content disclaimer. Wikipedia is not politically correct. (And I would happily contribute to an article discussing the arrogance of Americans.) --Astronouth7303 22:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry - it is not yours arrogance. This link describes it much better [9]. Have a nice day :D! Ares —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.221.131.71 (talk) 21:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC).
- Then it belongs to some article about RPG humour, not about military device. It's like inserting humour about Afroamericans in article about human races. Szopen 10:55, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was not moved. I agree with Piotrus, however, that there should be an article at Mine detector. --BDD (talk) 21:40, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Polish mine detector → mine detector – Mine detector redirects to Demining#Detection methods. Shouldn't this be there? Pl wiki article for this is simply mine detector. If there are other as popular mine detectors, can somebody create a proper disambig? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:54, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
- Strong oppose there are many kinds of mine detectors. This is only about a specific one. -- 70.24.250.103 (talk) 00:48, 23 April 2013 (UTC)
- If that was the case, why is it that we have no articles about any of them? Apteva (talk) 05:49, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- WP:NOTFINISHED Nick-D (talk) 11:06, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Also, material could be split out of the Demining article and expanded. Nick-D (talk) 11:08, 24 April 2013 (UTC)

- Strong oppose 'Mine detector' is a generic term, most commonly applied to the type of specialised metal detectors used by military engineers, but also covering several other technologies (including sticks and knives!). Nick-D (talk) 11:06, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. Generic term. -- Necrothesp (talk) 09:39, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
- Comment. I'd be happy to withdraw my comment, but can one of the experts here at least stub the mine detector article? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:00, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose. Demining#Manual_detection_with_a_metal_detector is the best place for Mine detector. As others have pointed out this should not refer to one specific type. Zarcadia (talk) 18:12, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Polish mine detector joke?
[edit]There is an ethnic joke that has a lot of coverage in RSes that shares the same name. Should the article at least mention it? [10] [11] [12] [13]Hobit (talk) 13:24, 25 April 2016 (UTC)
