Welcome
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, which I liken to a beehive whose bees are wikipedians and honey is knowledge. When you leave a message, type four tildes ~~~~ and that puts in your signature. Matt Stan 08:17, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

[edit]Other tips
[edit]Use words surrounded by equal signs to make headings: ===Headings===, but you'll see that when you edit stuff.
Words can be italicised, emboldened by enclosure in varying numbers of single quote characters: two or three respectively.
- Indent a paragraph by preceding it with a colon.
That's about it. Oh yeah - links to other articles just enclose in double square brackets, e.g. [[password length parameter]] gives password length parameter, which I edited to include a joke I heard the other day. You can also make what your article links to appear different to what it says with a vertical bar, e.g. [[black|white]] says white but takes you to black: white, though the syntax to do the same for external links is slightly different: [http://news.bbc.co.uk The News] gives The News.
You can see what other people have been editing by going to their user page and clicking on 'User contributions', which, in my case would take you to my contributions.
