Do you think this party is insignificant?
last night both antiriot police and Basijs attacked the karaj branch of party and they also arrested 15 members but they didn't attack Fadaian or Constitutional Monarchists because there is no Constitutional Monarchists or fadaian in Iran they live abroad !
http://www.pan-iranist.info/?p=318
Pan Iranist party is the first nationalist party in Iran and not part of national front as you said! Do you know how many active members, does it have in Tehran, Tabriz, Ahwaz ,Karaj... and other countries as well(european countries and US)?
It is totally wrong to say the Fadaian are more significant than Pan Iranists :)

Notability of the opposition parties
[edit]the Pan-Iranist Party is one of the major apposition groups in Iran I have already added a reference:
Abrahamian, Ervand (1982). Iran between two revolutions. Princeton University Press.ISBN 978-0-691-10134-7
which is one of the most important resource about political parties in Iran if you need further information see also

Contradiction
[edit]The list of the 4 poltical parties at the bottom of the page capable of ruling are each listed as left-wing parties. However the lead article refres to "right-wing." The right wing conservative parties are not socialist or communists which all of the 4 political parties are. The author is confusing economic liberalism and conservatism with religious conservatisim and liberalism, two fundmanentally opposed ideologies in this context. This is a common error of American mainstream media and is being repeated in the article. All of the ruling parties in Iran are left-wing (socialists) economically and right wing (orthodox) religiously.

Overly weighted towards the Diaspora Parties
[edit]The information here is excellent, but it is massively weighted towards a description of the diaspora parties who are all insignificant inside Iran.
Perhaps we could create a new page on diaspora politics, and use this as the basis for it?
'Iranian Political Parties' could then be used to describe the very factions, parties, coalitions and alliances which make up the domestic scene.
Thoughts?

self contradiction
[edit]The introductory paragraph doesn't make much sense, and it is contradicted in the next section. I will mark the page for cleanup.M i c 08:26, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Merge?
[edit]There's a lot of overlap here with List of political parties in Iran. Could they be merged into one article? --IdiotSavant (talk) 13:08, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

The graph doesn't make much sense. There's no explanation for dotted lines as opposed to solid lines. Also, every party is somehow related to all other parties which again doesn't make sense in real world.--Sennaista (talk) 03:03, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
answer to tarnama
[edit]It is totally wrong to say that the Pan Iranist Party is among the most powerful parties. After the 1979 it was an insignificant party and even today only a minority of Iranians know this party. Whereas all Iranians know the National Front (which is a Pan Iranist ally), the Mojahedin, the Constitutional Monarchists and the People's Fadaian.
Opposition parties often make joint statements but we never hear about the Pan Iranist Party. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WikipediaIRAN (talk • contribs) 00:48, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]Attempted to cleanup the lead. Deleted the sentence Political parties in Iran gives information on the political parties in Iran. It's pretty obvious the article is about politcal pariteis in Iran. --BoogaLouie (talk) 20:19, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
