Fate
[edit]Being that I am a fan of Rain, I do not reject the news of the uncertainty of his fate. However, what eveidence is there against his game ending not occuring? (A failed suicide mission doesn't necessarily mean that he was killed).
Also, what happened to the mention of his movie appearance?
I changed the part about "Rain's ending did not happen". There is nothing in the games to back up this statement. The arguments presented are somewhat convincing, but not necessarily accurate and thus refutible. Rain could have tried a suicide mission, got lost, knocked out, imprisoned, beaten and fled, or maybe even killed and revived by someone else, but there is no evidence as of November 2004 that Rain's ending did not happen.
Also, weren't the bio and ending removed earlier? It is useful to have them there, however, is that considered a copyright violation?
Ermac becoming a prince is another reference to the artist Prince. Should this be added?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.129.141.29 (talk • contribs)
- Uh... no. How does anything about Ermac have to do with Prince or Rain? EVula 22:34, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, the page doesn't have the MKT/UMK3 ending anymore. Since no one really knows what MKA means to the story, it might well be more informative to keep the old story on the page, since there's no explanation for the retcon.
DotR voice actor
[edit]Just a little quirk about the voice actor addition in Rain's infobox (that I made): if you check out the credits for Skin Deep, you'll see it there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Omdfg (talk • contribs) 14:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC).
Fair use rationale for Image:RainMK.jpg
[edit]Image:RainMK.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Please be more specific
[edit]Firstly, this:
Reception to the character has been mixed, with some critics regarding him as lacking distinguishing features from the franchise's earlier ninjas.[source?]
I haven't seen any of this and instead have mostly seen positive reception.
Secondly: what value does "Mortal Kombat character" add in the article description? Duly note that it only repeats the MK words in the title, Rain (Mortal Kombat), whereas "Villainous demi-god of Edenia" is more descriptive. "Villain(ous)" is better because it refers to a fictive character that's malicious i.e. Rain. ToniTurunen (talk) 21:17, 9 June 2021 (UTC)
- The sources for his reception are in his reception section. He has received both positive and negative commentary. Per Wikipedia guidelines, sources are not required for the lede if they are in the body of the article.
- As for the article description, the short description "Villainous demi-god of Edenia" is inaccurate and will confuse readers unfamiliar with the subject. He is not actually a "Villainous demi-god of Edenia"; in the real world, he is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat franchise. And if the reader doesn't know Mortal Kombat, they will not know what "Edenia" is. Bluerules (talk) 05:09, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
