I think that often the very thing that someone hates or doesn't care for is the very thing that they either fall in love with, become, or become extremely obsessed with. The same thing applied to Pygmalion with him not caring for females but then he falls in love with this sculpture that he has been working on for quite sometimes. In him loving her she becomes real and everyone knows what else happens.
I suggest that Shaw's play is now the primary meaning. PatGallacher (talk) 21:42, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
