Please call the English tracks by the names they are generally known by. "Town Moor" is Doncaster.

Try to do this comprehensively. It's very easy to get a list of tracks by country. The turf associations for each country has them. Just listing the ones you can think of is not as good as researching it properly.

I think you'd be better off making a category Horse racetracks, if one doesn't exist, and listing that here. There's a "British racecourses" category. You might want to consult that, although it's a bit underpopulated. Grace Note 14:28, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea, but my opinion is that this article shows information all at once; name of track, location, and significant races held there. You are welcome to make any changes to English track names as well as updating categories, but I also think it is a good thing to have this list here. MPS 14:13, 9 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the idea to also add a few infos to every track, but then this list has to be split. My suggestion would be to use it as a basis for various "Horse racing in ... (North America, South America, Australia and so on)", which could expand the information given in the Horse racing article. Horse racing in the United Kingdom already exists and provides a good example, i think.Malc82 17:41, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yesterday i added a list of every South American track i could confirm, but to do so for countries like France or Australia (where every village has an own track) would be way too much for this article.Malc82 17:41, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing is, we should discuss if Harness tracks (and for that matter, Quarter Horse tracks etc.) are to be mentioned in another subcategory, the same category or a different article altogether. The present situation (a few prominent harness tracks thrown into an otherwise thoroughbred-centered list) is misguiding and confusing.Malc82 17:41, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good faith edit (I corrected the grammar) ... needs a REF but I suggest letting it stand for the moment Alanf777 (talk) 03:02, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I believe such lists should be composed only of venues with articles, or redlinked venues with sources showing notability (ie they exist and meet some minimal threshhold of use). I also think its inappropriate to limit the list to existing venues. The title of the list doesnt exclude defunct ones. WP is not meant to be a directory, like a phone book. Im very new to any horse racing editing, and i dont feel up to addressing this, esp. without anyone else weighing in.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 17:37, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
