From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello, my name is André and I'm 35 years old and this page is a little outdated. I come from Leipzig where I studied Linguistics and Sinology at the local university . I'm doing my PhD at the University of Zurich about the languages of Burma . My main interests in linguistics include phonetics , phonology and typology , as well as historical linguistics , writing systems , constructed languages (esp. Esperanto and Klingon ) and lexicography . I also like movies, science (especially astronomy ) and to an extent geography . I collect dictionaries — they sum up to over 700 books in way over 250 different languages. See a map of my dictionary collection here!
For more information about my life, you can read my blog here: http://n-true.livejournal.com/ (but this is now discontinued)
P.S.: I collect the word for the number 47 ("forty-seven") in as many languages as possible. You can see my collection (612 languages so far) here . I do the same with the word for water , for which I have 2,425 languages now (the list is not online, though). In case you know any further translation or if you can correct anything, please leave me a message on my talk page here or as a comment in my LiveJournal. Thank you!
